How do I become a coach?

Everyone has access to the scoring criteria and coach’s manual. To serve as an informal coach for someone, you simply have to arrange a system for providing feedback on the activities. One system would be to have the interpreter email their completed activities to you so that you can apply the scoring criteria and guidelines found in the coach’s manual electronically and return your feedback via email.

To become a registered coach you must do the following:

1. Obtain a basic certificate of completion in the course you would like to coach by completing the course and passing the assessment.
2. Obtain an advanced certificate of completion in the Registered. Coaches Course by completing the course, passing the assessment and submitting the feedback you prepare during your first coaching experience to the coaching mentor for review.

Once you have obtained the advanced certificate of completion in the Registered Coaches Course you are free to coach interpreters in the distance learning platform on your own.

To be assigned as a coach for a specific interpreter, simply send an email to etshelp@eppley.org with your user name and the user name of the interpreter you will be coaching.
